In My Life

Every Life Story is Worth Preserving

A multi-faceted video service creating biographical legacies on film for their clients.

In My Life

Every Life Story is Worth Preserving

Director, Bill Leavengood, creates a professionally produced, filmed and edited interview with the client to create a biographical documentary about you, a colleague, or a loved one’s life and times, which both celebrates the client’s life story and leaves a video legacy for generations to come.

What is the process of creating the biographical documentary?

Pre-Interview Meeting – The Director meets with the Client(s). For the Director, it offers an opportunity to get to know the person to be interviewed, to put the Client at ease and develop a rapport, as well as to assist the Director in formulating the most interesting, focused and stimulating questions for the interview. For the Client, it gives them the opportunity to meet the Director and express which elements of their lives they would most like to touch upon.

The Interview – we schedule a time and place for the Interview. Our camera crew arrives and sets up the camera and lighting. The Director conducts an interview with the Client which is filmed by the Director of Photography. The interview will last between 30-45 minutes, including one five-minute break. If there is any part of the Interview the Client does not want included, we will edit out that portion, as long as the request is made prior to us creating the Edit.

THE EDIT – We take the raw footage and edit out the interviewer/ director, so that the only voice we hear is the Client’s. Transitions to a black screen will be added between the Client’s answers/ stories.

THE FINAL PRODUCT – The interview is delivered to the Client on a flash drive, to distribute and use however they see fit. The Final Product will be delivered within 4 weeks of the Interview.

PREMIERE SERVICE – This service is designed by the Client and the Director and can include multiple interviews with any number of subjects. Additional filming and editing can include multiple locations, B-roll filming, family photos, heirlooms and mementos that are important to the client and their life story. Pricing is based on the number of interviews and locations, complexity of the filming and editing, and the time and expense required to complete and deliver the final product. The fee for the Premiere Service can be discussed during the Pre-Interview meeting and agreed upon prior to the first interview.

SPECIAL EVENT SERVICE – “In Our Lives”, would be offered to families seeking to document important milestones and turning points within their family lives such as high school and college graduations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, retirements, new careers and other life-changing accomplishments and rites of passage. The fee for the Special Event Service can be discussed during the Pre-Interview meeting and agreed upon prior to the first day of filming.

In My Life For Business

Every Company’s Story is Worth Preserving

“In My Life” For Business is a multi-faceted video service which creates biographical legacies on film for our clients, their colleagues and their businesses.

Director, Bill Leavengood, creates a professionally produced, filmed and edited biographical documentary that both enlightens the customer base and preserves the history of a business and the key people behind it, taking us from its origins, through its evolution, into the present and its goals for the future.

Multiple edits of different lengths can be created for various uses including boosting morale, awareness and pride within the business; enticing new applicants for employment; and marketing and promotion of the business on social media, the internet and the company website.

What is the process of creating the biographical documentary for your business?

Initial Meeting – The Director meets with the Client(s). For the Director, it offers an opportunity to get to know more about the client’s business and the people to be interviewed, as well as to inspire ideas for images, segues and B-roll filming to enhance the final product. For the Client, it allows them to understand the process and to give the Director guidance about specific elements, people and messages they would like highlighted.

THE INTERVIEW(S) – we schedule a time and place for the Interview (s). Our camera crew arrives and sets up the camera and lighting. The Director conducts an interview with the Client(s) which is filmed by the Director of Photography. Interviews can be as short as five minutes or as long as one hour, depending on the Client’s goals and instructions for each person being interviewed.

THE FIRST EDIT – We edit out the interviewer/director, so that the only voice we hear is that of the Client(s). Transitions to a black screen will be added between the Client’s answers/stories. Based on the substance of the interview (s), the Director suggests additional photographs, images, short dramatizations and/or additional B-Roll that could enhance the final product. The Client may suggest additional interviews or topics within interviews they would like to add to the project.

ADDITIONAL FILMING – We schedule and film all additional elements approved by Client including interviews as well as photographs, images, short dramatizations and/or additional B-Roll.

THE FINAL PRODUCT – The above elements are now edited together (a soundtrack can be added at a client’s discretion). The completed project is delivered to the Client on a flash drive, to distribute and use however they see fit. The Final Product will be delivered within 4 weeks of the final day of filming.
